Jane Taylor Design developed an ambitious curved structural form residence to replace the old farmhouse in this rural Dorset location with stunning views over Blackmore vale.

Local architects Proctor Watts Cole Rutter then brought the design to reality working out the details and solving many technical complexities.

R. Moulding & Co. (Salisbury) Ltd. were selected and appointed on a negotiated prime cost contract basis. They delivered this high quality 4-bed residence complete with annexe building accommodating ancillary space including studio space and garage.

PGP provided full cost management services including a continuously updated Cost Plan throughout the contract forecasting final project cost. PGP regularly checked and approved sub-contractor quotes to ensure that the project remained to the client approved budget.

Despite the challenging design and unfamiliar building techniques employed the project was delivered and completed very much in line with the estimate and forecast project cost.

The house includes 4-bedrooms, 4-en-suites, large circular stairwell / atrium in the centre of the house with large rooflight over and metal spiral staircase with bare plaster walls that provide the ideal background for the Clients art and sculpture.

Despite achieving high levels of insulation and air-tightness, there is underfloor heating via an air source heat pump, mechanical ventilation heat recovery system, high performing log burners and Lutron lighting.
